Nuclear Power in NEA Member Countries Nuclear safetyThe NEA Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations has just issued a new State-of-the-Art Report on Systematic Approaches to Safety Management. It provides a brief explanation of the relationship between safety management and safety culture, and underlines the need for nuclear licensees and regulators to take positive steps to ensure that licensees develop and sustain a robust safety management system as a part of their overall management system. Related links Documents from the Committee on the Safety of Nuclear Installations (CSNI) Nuclear scienceThe first edition of the International Handbook of Evaluated Reactor Physics Experiments has been released. The handbook was produced as part of the International Reactor Physics Experiment Evaluation (IRPhE) project. This project was established to provide a peer-reviewed set of integral data for reactor physics. The data can be used by reactor designers and safety analysts to validate the analytical tools used to design next-generation reactors and establish the safety basis for operating these reactors. The handbook provides verified and extensively peer-reviewed reactor physics benchmark measurement data from 16 experimental series performed at 12 reactor facilities.
