OECD Nuclear Energy Agency / L'Agence pour l'énergie nucléaire OECD-OCDE

Facts and figures

NEA member countries account for approximately 85% of the world's installed nuclear capacity. In the OECD area, nuclear energy represents nearly a quarter of the electricity supply. More detailed data covering total and nuclear electricity generation and capacity, the status of nuclear power plants, and supply and demand for nuclear fuel cycle services than that below may be found in the NEA publication Nuclear Energy Data 2007. At the beginning of 2007, the situation was as follows:

Country
Number of nuclear units connected to the grid
Nuclear electricity generation
(net TWh)
2006
Nuclear percentage of total electricity supply
