Co-sponsored meetings and conferences

The conferences and symposia listed below are organised by national or international bodies for which NEA co-sponsorship or co-operation has been granted.

2009

14-16 January ISOE North American ALARA Symposium/EPRI Radiation Protection Conference

This ISOE symposium is organised to provide a regional forum to promote information exchange of ideas and management approaches to maintaining occupational radiation exposures "as low as reasonably achievable"(ALARA). It is designed to meet the needs of nuclear utility and regulatory authority professionals with responsibilities in the areas of occupational radiation exposure control and health physics. The objective is for participants to exchange occupational dose reduction practices and lessons learnt to improve occupational radiation protection in nuclear power facilities worldwide. The conference will also provide a forum for information exchange between vendors and other members of the industry.

Organisers

Information System on Occupational Exposure (ISOE); ISOE North American Technical Centre, Electric Power Research Institute (EPRI)

8-11 February 2009 Public Information Materials Exchange (PIME) Meeting

The 2009 PIME conference will address how to adapt to societal changes and address issues related to a possible nuclear renaissance. The PIME conferences address internal as well as external communication and cover all civil uses of nuclear technologies.

Organisers European Nuclear Society
Where Edinburgh, United Kingdom

23-27 February Control and Management of Occasional Radioactive Materials in Scrap Metal

The objective of the conference is to exchange international experience gained in recent years in the control and management of radioactive material that has been inadvertently diverted into scrap metal streams. To promote good practices to prevent inadvertent diversion of radioactive material and to elaborate further upon existing international recommendations and, as needed, to develop new recommendations and guidance.
