JANIS-3.0: A software for nuclear data visualisation (version released June 2007)

Janis (Java-based nuclear information software) is a display program designed to facilitate the visualisation and manipulation of nuclear data. Its objective is to allow the user of nuclear data to access numerical values and graphical representations without prior knowledge of the storage format. It offers maximum flexibility for the comparison of different nuclear data sets.

The Comprehensive Index to Nuclear Reaction Data

CINDA BOOK 2006

CINDA, the Comprehensive Index of Nuclear Reaction Data, contains bibliographical references to measurements, calculations, reviews and evaluations of cross-sections and other microscopic neutron, gamma and charged-particle data as well as references to computer libraries of numerical data. The present archive edition, CINDA 2006, is a complete index of the literature on nuclear reaction data published from 1935 to 2006.
CINDA 2006 includes a DVD which contains the complete CINDA database in electronic format, searchable through the display program JANIS (included on the DVD). JANIS has been developed at the NEA to facilitate searches in CINDA as well as visualisation and manipulation of experimental and evaluated data. It can be found at www.nea.fr/janis for free download.
A limited number of publications are available from the NEA for libraries and research facilities on request. Please contact:

The JEFF-3.1 Nuclear Data Library

The latest version of the JEFF library, JEFF-3.1, was released by the NEA in May 2005. JEFF-3.1 combines the efforts of the JEFF and EFF/EAF (European Fusion File/European Activation File) working groups who have contributed to this combined fission and fusion library. The neutron general purpose library contains incident neutron data for 381 materials from 1H to 255Fm. The activation library (based on the European Activation File, EAF-2003) contains 774 different targets from 1H to 257Fm. The radioactive decay data library contains data for 3 852 isotopes, of which 226 are stable. The proton special purpose library contains incident proton data for 26 materials from 40Ca to 209Bi. The thermal scattering law library covers 9 materials, and the fission yield library covers 19 isotopes of neutron induced fission yield from 232Th to 245Cm and 3 isotopes with spontaneous fission yields (242Cm, 244Cm and 252Cf). The present report describes the content of this library.

JEFF-3.1 Joint Evaluated Fission and Fusion Data Library - CD-ROM

The JEFF project is a collaborative effort among NEA Data Bank member countries to develop a reference nuclear data library for use in different nuclear energy applications. The third, improved version of the JEFF nuclear data library (JEFF-3.1) contains evaluated nuclear data:

  • Incident Neutron data 381 materials from 1-H-1 to 100-Fm-255.
  • Incident Proton data 26 materials.
  • Thermal Scattering data 9 isotopes.
  • Radiactive Decay data 3852 nuclides.
  • Spontaneous and Neutron induced Fission Yields.
  • Neutron Activation data 774 target nuclei (JEFF-3/A).
The data is stored in ENDF-6 format. Order your free copy.

JEFF-3/A Joint Evaluated Fission and Fusion Activation Data Library - DVD-ROM

The JEFF project is a collaborative effort among NEA Data Bank member countries to develop a reference nuclear data library for use in different nuclear energy applications. The JEFF 3/A library is the Activation Data Library in ENDF-6 format prepared from the European Activation File (EAF). The JEFF-3/A library contains 12,617 excitation functions involving 774 different targets from 1H to 257Fm, atomic numbers 1 to 100, in the energy range 10-5 eV to 20 MeV. Uniquely, an uncertainty file is also provided that quantifies the degree of confidence placed on the data for each reaction channel. The data is stored in ENDF-6 format. Processed data is also available.

The European Activation File, EAF-2007

The European Activation File (EAF) is an extensive data library prepared for the European Activation System (EASY). The latest EAF library, EAF-2007, contains a suite of sublibraries. The neutron data library contains 65,565 excitation functions involving 816 different targets from 1H to 257Fm, atomic numbers 1 to 100, in the energy range 10-5 eV to 60 MeV. The EAF-2007 library includes also deuteron-induced data (66,864 reactions) and proton-induced data (67,925 reactions).
The EAF decay data library contains nuclear properties of 2,231 nuclides, such as spin, decay modes, half-life and mean decay energies. The EAF biological, clearance and transport libraries are also included. The data contains biological, clearance and transport coefficients of all the 2,004 radionuclides in the libraries, such as activity, committed effective doses per unit uptake for ingestion and inhalation, the source of the biological data, the transport coefficient (A2) and the clearance level value.
Uniquely, an uncertainty file is also provided that quantifies the degree of confidence placed on the data for each reaction channel.

A DVD can be ordered from the NEA. The DVD contains the latest activation data library, EAF-2007, as well as an archive of the previous EAF libraries: EAF-2001, EAF-2003 EAF-2005, and EAF-2005.1 (an updated and extended release of EAF-2005). The complete documentation of the different libraries is also included (in pdf format). Note that the libraries are available in the EAF format.

JENDL/D-99 Japanese Evaluated Nuclear Data Dosimetry File

The CD contains information for 47 nuclides and 67 reactions in both the SAND-II group structure and as 0K processed pointwise files. The pointwise files also include unresolved resonance parameters for self-shielding calculations, but cross sections are given explicitly in the pointwise format (MF=3).
