Nuclear application data (processed libraries and tools)

In order to support the distribution and best use of the various evaluated nuclear data libraries, the NEA promotes the exchange of information on processed libraries, pre-processing and processing codes. The NEA also provides a framework for the processing of evaluated nuclear data through its nuclear data services. New libraries are always being sought and added to this listing. Available application data libraries are listed below, along with links to useful processing tools.

Tools for the checking and processing of nuclear data

Several checking and processing and viewing tools exist, some of which are listed below:

Application data based on JEFF 3.1

Data processed with NJOY-99.90+patches in ACE format.
Date: June 2006.
The library was prepared by Oscar Cabellos for the general purpose and thermal scattering libraries. Updates are now available.

Resources available:

• Documentation (May 2006).
• Input parameters (NJOY inputs and patch upn).
• ACE files with graphs and documentation from the quality assurance procedure.
• Independent ACE libraries at 10 different temperatures (300, 400, 500, 600, 700, 800, 900, 1000, 1200 and 1800K) for both libraries: General purpose and Thermal scattering.
• Correction of the thermal scattering library (HZr compound, May 2007).
• Update of the library with new patch for NJOY for correct treatement of the probablity tables for the following isotopes (Fe-58; Re-185,187; U-235,238;Pu-240 and Am-241), November 2007.

Date: October 2006.
This processed library was prepared by Wim Haeck and Bernard Verboomen at SCK-CEN, Belgium, with the ALEPH-DLG automation tool.

Other application data

ENDF/B-VII.0 data processed with NJOY-99.259 for radiation damage calculations with extensions to important reactions for activation.

Nuclear data communities

The main evaluated nuclear data libraries in the world (JEFF, ENDF/B, JENDL, BROND, CENDL, FENDL) are collaborating under the NEA Working Party on International Nuclear Data Evaluation Co-operation (WPEC). The NEA gathers mainly European evaluators twice per year to discuss the progress in the Joint European Fission and Fusion (JEFF) project. The Cross Section Evaluation Working Group (CSEWG) at Brookhaven National Laboratory (BNL), NY, USA is meeting annually to discuss the main evaluated nuclear data format (ENDF-6) and progress in the ENDF/B project.
