Use of NEA online services

The NEA is an intergovernmental organisation funded by its member countries, each national delegation will be kept informed of the users from that country. All users of the NEA services must be approved by representative on the appropriate NEA committee; the NEA Secretariat will handle the formalities for approval.

USER RESPONSIBILITIES FOR USE OF CHEMICAL AND NUCLEAR DATA SERVICES

Users authorised to access Data Bank on-line services will be issued a password, which is strictly personal. They are responsible for protecting it against use by any other person, and for requesting a new password urgently if any other person acquires knowledge of it.

Please use the search programs economically, by defining as many of the search parameters as are necessary to avoid scanning a larger portion of the data base than is useful.

Please limit the quantity of data to be sent back to you to what you can really use. Network dispatch of files to your own computer is often size limited. In case of difficulty or large data requests, please telephone the Data Bank or send an electronic mail.

Please insist that your colleagues apply for their own user authorisation rather than 'borrowing' someone else's. If you receive output you did not request, this may be because someone else is using your password. If it appears that a password or user identity is being misused, the user's authorisation may be withdrawn until the question is resolved.
