3.
NATURE OF PHYSICAL PROBLEM SOLVED - Converts nuclear data from US ENDF/B to UK NDL format. 4.
METHOD OF SOLUTION - Generates tabulations from parametric forms. Deletes surplus points from tabulations. 5.
RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM - Reich-Moore and Adler-Adler resonance formulae are not processed. Temperature dependence is ignored. Inelastic scattering is allowed to only 30 discrete levels. There are various storage restrictions which would require recompilation to overcome. The most stringent of these is that a cross section is limited to 5000 data points including those interpolated by the program. 6.
TYPICAL RUNNING TIME - On an IBM 360/75, using CPU time as a measure, a file without resonances is converted in a few minutes. A material with many resonances is converted in a few tens of minutes. Doppler broadening of the data increases the running time a great deal. 7.
UNUSUAL FEATURES OF THE PROGRAM - Having generated a copy of the ENDF/B data in a form suitable for the NDL, the program allows great flexibility in specifying the accuracy of the final file. 8.
RELATED AND AUXILIARY PROGRAMS - Any of the ENDF/B or NDL manipulation programs can be considered related. 9.
STATUS 10.
REFERENCES - 11.
MACHINE REQUIREMENTS - At least 200k of IBM/360 storage. Input and output streams. Normally tape units for the ENDF/B tape input and NDL tape output although these could be discs. Uses very many input/output streams for temporary storage. These could be tapes but so many are required that disks would normally be used. A clock routine is used simply for labelling the output. 12.
PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE(S) USED - 13.
OPERATING SYSTEM OR MONITOR UNDER WHICH PROGRAM IS EXECUTED - IBM OS/360 with MFT or MVT, VS2. 14.
ANY OTHER PROGRAMMING OR OPERATING INFORMATION OR RESTRICTIONS - The program is only of use in converting ENDF/B files. These are not supplied. 15.
