3. DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION - AMICO is an auxiliary program for generating input cross section data for codes ANISN and DOT, from WIMS library or WIMS output. This program is necessary for obtaining constants for structural materials, control rods, experimental devices, etc., included in core and shield reactor calculations.

4. METHOD OF SOLUTION -

5. RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM - No restrictions on the number of energy groups or materials are noted because the program uses the variable dimension technique.

6. TYPICAL RUNNING TIME - It is strongly dependent on the particular problem and hardware used. Execution of all sample cases took less than 2 min in non-interactive mode.

11. MACHINE REQUIREMENTS - It needs about 300 K core storage, and several logical units including the WIMS library and input, output files. In the VAX version, the computer console must be assigned as unit 5.

IAEA1251/02:

The program was installed by NEA-DB on both a VAX 6000-510 and a DELL 466/L PC/80486 with 66 MHz and 12 Mbytes of RAM. Test case execution was only possible on the PC.

13. OPERATING SYSTEM UNDER WHICH PROGRAM IS EXECUTED - VAX OS 4.7.

IAEA1251/02:

The program could be compiled by NEA-DB on the VAX using the FORTRAN-77 compiler version 5.5-98 running under VMS version 5.5-2. On the PC, the NDP FORTRAN-486 compiler version 4.40 DOS (10/1/93) was used running under MS-DOS version 6.2.

14. OTHER PROGRAMMING OR OPERATING INFORMATION OR RESTRICTIONS - The
code has an option to work in non-interactive mode, from a previous interactive run, with little modification for a particular problem. NOTE: The VAX version of AMICO program is written in Spanish.
Interested users can obtain a registered copy of the program
with all prompts in English.
