DESCRIPTION OF PROGRAM OR FUNCTION - 4.
METHODS - The methods used for LADTAP and GASPAR are those presented in Regulatory Guide 1.109, Rev. 1. XOQDOQ methods are based on Regulatory guide 1.111, Rev. 1 and as further described in NUREG/CR-2919. 5.
RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM - 6.
TYPICAL RUNNING TIME - Typical runtime should not exceed 5 to 10 seconds. 9.
STATUS 10.
REFERENCES - 11.
HARDWARE REQUIREMENTS - NRCDose runs on Pentium computers under the Windows operating system. 12.
PROGRAMMING LANGUAGE -CCC-0684/07: FORTRAN VISUAL BASIC 13.
SOFTWARE REQUIREMENTS - At the RSICC, Microsoft Fortran Powerstation 4.0 was used to compile Fortran modules, and Microsoft Visual Basic 6.0 was used to compile Visual Basic module to create the distributed Windows executables. The codes were tested under Windows XP and Windows Vista. Source files are not included, so the codes can be run only on personal computers running Windows. 14.
OTHER PROGRAMMING OR OPERATING INFORMATION OR RESTRICTIONS - The code runs only under Windows. 15.

NRCDose includes the suite of NRC's computer codes (LADTAP II, GASPAR II, and XOQDOQ) used for evaluating routine radioactive effluents from nuclear power plants with a WINDOWS interface to facilitate ease of use. The liquid pathway dose assessments of the LADTAP II code are based on the modeling presented in NRC Regulatory Guide 1.109, Rev. 1, 'Calculation of Annual Doses to Man from Routine Releases of Reactor Effluents for the Purpose of Evaluating Compliance with 10 CFR Part 50, Appendix I.' GASPAR II, the gaseous pathway dose assessment, is also based on Regulatory Guide 1.109 modeling. XOQDOQ, presenting the meteorological dispersion calculations, is based in the modeling of Regulatory Guide 1.111, Rev. 1, 'Methods for Estimating Atmospheric Transport and Dispersion of Gaseous Effluents in Routine Releases from Light-Water-Cooled Reactors.'
Recent modifications in NRCDose include:
- BLOCK data functionality in LADTAP module was not working correctly - it has been repaired. (v2.3.7)
- LADTAP - Additional Usage Locations for ALARA Analysis - locations were being replicated inadvertently. This has been corrected. (v2.3.8)
- XOQDOQ - Corrected direction labels on the Wind Speed Values dialog. (v2.3.9)
- BLOCK data functionality in GASPAR module was not working correctly - the GASPAR.FOR code file was corrected and recompiled. (v2.3.10)
CCC-0684/07:
In this release of NRCDose 2.3.10, BLOCK data functionality in the GASPAR module was corrected.
The modeling of the LADTAP and GASPAR codes based on Regulatory Guide 1.109 are for routine, normal effluents under annual average environmental conditions. Likewise, the XOQDOQ methods are for assessing average meteorological dispersion conditions. NRCDose should not be used for evaluating short term releases where assumptions concerning equilibrium environmental conditions may not be applicable. It should not be used for accident dose assessment.
