Package-ID Orig.Computer Test Computer
CCC-0301/01 IBM 360 series IBM 3084Q
3.
DESCRIPTION OF PROBLEM OR FUNCTION - ELPHO reads "collision" tapes which have been generated by HETC and obtain the produced pi-o (-gamma+gamma) and electrons on positrons (source energies for the electromagnetic cascade) from muon decay. It can also consider incident photons, electrons, or positrons.
4.
METHOD OF SOLUTION - Monte Carlo is method used by ELPHO. 5.
RESTRICTIONS ON THE COMPLEXITY OF THE PROBLEM - ELPHO is set to handle 2000 incident particles. This number can be changed by altering common specifications as described in the document.
6.
TYPICAL RUNNING TIME - The packaged sample problem ran in about 15 minutes on the IBM 360/91.
7.
